Tiny Warriors Alliance

By NICU parents, for NICU parents

Hey! Happy to see you here.

Tiny Warriors Alliance was created by two NICU moms with different journeys, but the same mission: to offer the kind of peer support they wish they had — or were grateful to receive — during their NICU stays.

We’re here to create space to connect, share, and grow from this experience, without pressure or judgment.

WHO WE ARE

Sometimes, it feels good to talk to someone who just... gets it.

We’re a group of volunteer NICU parents trained by the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation to provide peer support to families with babies in the NICU.
We’ve lived the rollercoaster of monitors, milestones, setbacks, and the long days and nights — and we’re here to walk alongside you.

What to expect

Reaching out is simple and informal.

We offer one-on-one peer support, and that can look different for every parent — a quick chat, a phone call, a message, or even meeting for coffee.

You can talk about anything: your baby’s progress, your feelings, your fears, or just what the day looked like.

There’s no pressure, no judgment, and no commitment. Whether it’s a one-time conversation or ongoing support, you set the pace.

Jessica

Jessica

Dyllan is a mother of two. Her first child, Lyle, was born at term, but her second, Willow, arrived unexpectedly at just 25 weeks due to a placental abruption. Willow was considered a micro-preemie, and she spent 114 days in the Neonatal ICU at the Saint John Regional Hospital. During that time, Dyllan connected with other preemie parents who offered support and understanding — a connection that became a lifeline. That experience sparked her passion for being there for others walking a similar path, and ultimately inspired her to help create the Tiny Warriors Alliance.

Jessica

Jessica is a mother of two, a certified doula, and a childbirth educator. Her first child was induced at 35 weeks due to preeclampsia and spent two weeks in the NICU during the height of COVID-19 restrictions. With limited resources and strict visitation rules, the experience was isolating and overwhelming. That challenging time deepened Jessica’s commitment to supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey — and led her to co-found the Tiny Warriors Alliance to help fill the gaps she saw firsthand.

Each year, 30,000 premature babies are born in Canada. It was extremely important to us to start “The Tiny Warriors Alliance” to give back to the parents of these preemies and provide the support they need during such a challenging time.

what drives us

Our Inspiration

Tiny Warriors Alliance was created from a shared understanding that while healthcare teams provide exceptional care, the experience of connecting with another NICU parent can offer something uniquely powerful.

For many, that kind of peer connection is missing, and its absence is deeply felt. For others, it becomes a quiet lifeline. That contrast is what inspired the creation of Tiny Warriors Alliance: to make sure every parent has the chance find connection when they need it.

Our Mission

At Tiny Warriors Alliance, our mission is to foster real, human connection between NICU parents, one conversation at a time. We currently offer one-on-one peer support rooted in lived experience, not advice. Whether it’s sharing a story, offering encouragement, or helping navigate local resources, we’re here to walk alongside parents during one of the most intense chapters of their lives.

Our Goal

We are striving to grow a community where NICU families feel supported not only in the hospital, but well beyond it, through every step of the journey.

We believe healing doesn’t start when you go home - it starts the moment your NICU journey begins.

Healing is not a linear process, especially after a NICU stay. It begins the moment your journey starts, not just when you take your baby home. Every step, no matter how small, is part of the journey towards healing and strength.
