Please reach us at hello@nicunest.ca if you cannot find an answer to your question.
If you are an SJRH WCH provider/RRT, your unit covers all associated costs.
For some non-WCH employees and all non-Horizon providers, NRP courses have a fee.
Weekend and private sessions are always delivered at a per-student cost, regardless of your place of employment.
The course is open to healthcare professionals involved in neonatal resuscitation. It is not open to the general public or students without clinical exposure to neonatal care.
We do not accept individual student registrations. However, we’re happy to offer private group sessions for trainees if requested through your university or training program. Please speak with your academic coordinator and contact us to explore options.
The course fee covers the in-person simulation-based training only. You are responsible for the online exam and purchasing a copy of the most recent edition of the NRP Provider Manual.
We offer the Advanced NRP Provider Course as our standard format.
Essential courses are available by special request for select groups, please contact us to discuss options.
If you're a WCH provider or respiratory therapist, the Advanced course is mandatory.
Please speak with your unit educator or manager. Courses are free for WCH staff and typically run every 3 months.
We’re working to expand our program. Unfortunately, our spots are currently limited to WCH teams and physicians involved in newborn care. Please discuss with your manager and reach out to us — we’ll do our best to accommodate when possible.
Yes, as long as you're involved in inpatient newborn care - drop us a line at nrp@nicunest.ca and we'll send you the available dates and registration link.
Yes — if you’re involved in newborn resuscitation, we may be able to offer you a spot. Availability is very limited, as priority is given to SJRH employees. Please contact us to inquire.
If you completed your NRP certification through NEST, you may be eligible for a Refresher. Contact us for details.
No — the Refresher is designed to support skill retention after completing NRP certification.
Outreach sessions are often free for participants, depending on the hosting site and funding arrangements. However, instructor costs (such as travel, meals, and accommodation) may apply and are determined based on distance and duration.
Yes — participants should be NRP certified or have sufficient familiarity with the algorithm to benefit from the session. These simulations are designed to reinforce concepts and strengthen existing skills, not to serve as a first introduction to neonatal resuscitation.
If your team requires on-site NRP certification, we’re happy to discuss that option — please contact us for details.
Absolutely! We welcome collaboration with instructors across the province. You're invited to join us for a session, where you’ll be paired with an experienced NEST instructor. Please contact us to coordinate. We'll be happy to have you!
NRP instructor roles are by invitation only and based on clinical experience and our local needs. At this time, we are not accepting new instructors.
We currently only support instructor development for SJRH Women & Children’s Health staff. Due to program limitations, we are unable to train or accept instructors without Horizon affiliation or without routine clinical exposure to neonatal resuscitation.
